Term 8, Interior Concept Design, Week 7
For full context, see the description of my Art Home School Curriculum.
Retrospective
My last class for Interior Concept Design at Syn Studio was this weekend. Now I have one week without any homework due before I start an intensive fall schedule at Brainstorm school. Also my last day of work is next week. I’m going from a full time software engineer to a full time art student.
Log
I took it easy this week to help ease the transition from work to student (and to play some Elden Ring).
Drawings and Critiques
Basic 3D and design of a medieval cordwainer’s workshop.
I’m not sure if I’ll finish this. I’d like to but I won’t have time until December since I’ll be flooded with other homework. The good news is that my teacher for the Interior Concept Design class said my candlemaker workshop was at a professional level, and if I had 7–10 pieces of similar quality in my portfolio I would be able to get a job. It’s nice to know that my plans of putting together a portfolio this year aren’t premature.
Master study after Eytan Zana.
Eytan posted a gif of this painting showing his process, and when you open a gif in photoshop it automatically breaks each image into a layer. I thought it would be fun to emulate the process while studying the painting. This is nowhere near done, but it’s as far as I got today.
