Term 7, Brainstorm School Summer 2022, Week 1
Week of May 16, 2022
For full context, see the description of my Art Home School Curriculum.
The first week of FND 1 homework at Brainstorm school was all exercises that I have done in the past, but it was amazing how much I can still learn from basic fundamentals exercises. I feel like drawing will be like that for the rest of my life. No matter how good you get, you’re never too good to practice freehand straight lines and ellipses. There’s something zen-like in that.
Drawings and Critiques
Brainstorm FND I week 1 homework.
Straight lines, circles, and ellipses.
Diagonal lines and curves.
Boxes from life.
Boxes from 3d model.
Replicating FZD School of Design Visual Communications assignments.
Week 1: Simple forms with orthographic views, then drawn in perspective.
Week 2: More complex forms.
Brainstorm School VisCom Basics Flash course.
Week 1: Blocky vehicles constructed from orthographic proportional views.
XYZ section drawing of forms with curved surfaces.
It’s hard to believe that people actually draw like this. I think the idea is to do it with measurements enough so that you don’t need them anymore. Kind of like training wheels on a bike.
