Retrospective
I still enjoying the structure of focusing on a different topic of study every day of the week. In fact, I like it so much that I’m seriously considering enrolling in an online atelier. I’m currently researching which one I want to join.
Log
Drawings and Critiques
Monday, Oct. 18
Gouache portrait painting.
Comic art prelims and layin.
Tuesday, Oct. 19
Figure layin.
1 hour for the left one, and 20 minutes for the right.
Wednesday, Oct. 20
Head drawing.
20 minutes on the left, and 1.5 hours on the right. The eyes look too large and the lips too high in the 20 minute drawing. The face is too squashed in general.
Thursday, Oct. 21
Figure layins.
2 hours, 20 minutes, 20 minutes.
Friday, Oct. 22
Head drawing.
I like this when the shadows were even tones, but once I started to go full value it started looking bad. I’m not done with it yet, so hopefully I can still save it.
Saturday, Oct. 23
Gouache portrait.
This is mostly done. I still need to do some blending tomorrow.
Sunday, Oct. 24
Final gouache portrait.
Original comic art.
