Retrospective

I enjoyed drawing from the Bridgman book this week. The “Watts on Bridgman” book was absolutely essential. His cleaned up versions helped me understand Bridgman’s messy drawings. My longer, finished drawings from the week are all based on the Watts book, and the sketches are based on the Bridgman book.

I love the arm in this one. The blocky, jagged shapes are cool.

The arms need work. I should probably focus on foreshortening soon.

The left drawing is my favorite of the week. I usually just stick to two values with graphite since comic art is usually inked, but I used some light greys here because I was copying a tonal drawing.
