Fundamentals Review
Week of Dec. 12, 2022
Retrospective
I saw a physical therapist this week about my arm because even after taking a week off last week, drawing for about an hour began hurting. I did several movements under the guidance of the physical therapist, and was reassured that my injury isn’t severe. She gave me some strengthening exercises and some stretches to do, and recommended that I cut back from my normal schedule. That way I will be ready for my heavy workload when the spring semester starts at Brainstorm school. Interestingly, drawing digitally seems to aggravate the injury much more than drawing traditionally. I’m wondering if that means I should try a Cintiq. I currently use an Intuos pro USB tablet. I didn’t have any pain this week from traditional drawing. Next week I plan to start a unit on portfolio development where I improve some of the concepts I created last semester.
