Anatomy II — Arms and Hands Unit Plan

For full context, see the description of my Art Home School Curriculum.

In addition to learning the anatomy of arms and hands, I’m going to focus on creating some original sequential art during this unit. My ultimate goal in learning how to draw is to write and illustrate an original graphic novel. Creating short comic stories will give me practice in multiple areas:

  • Drawing from imagination
  • Storytelling
  • Writing

I plan to spend 1 hour and 10 minutes per day (about 8 hours per week) working on original sequential art. I’m hoping this will pan out to about 4 pages of art by the end of the unit (just penciled, not inked, colored, or lettered).
